The key design challenge was to streamline a complex marketplace without oversimplifying token details. Users needed advanced filters and credibility signals while keeping the onboarding friction low. I needed to balance collector needs for rarity indicators, token history, and bidding mechanisms with accessibility for first-time users. We iterated on modular UI components, collapsed advanced filters behind progressive disclosure, and introduced inline helper tips.
Another core challenge was reinforcing Magic Eden’s cultural tone—energetic, celebratory, and community-first—through UI and interactions. We tested a mix of vibrant micro-animations on key UX milestones, honest typography, clean layout adjustments for mobile, and micro-wins like “Congrats on your mint” overlays. The aim was to evoke excitement without overshadowing the core marketplace function.
